Finally able to squeeze some time out to blog. It's been a real busy week. Seems like I can only afford to blog once a week.
So this post is going to consist of many activities I've done over the week.

Starting from Tuesday...

We had Subaru Challenge briefing at Mediacorp in the evening. So after school...

Went to Old School Delights at Upper Thomson Road with Cherlyn, Naz, Peimin and Wei Liang!!!

Yay one more place striked off my to-eat list!!!

I was super disappointed when Naz and Peimin told me that it was closed on Tuesday. But nevertheless, we still went to Upper Thomsom Road to see if there were other good food places to try.

And when we walked past Old School Delights...

It was open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally made my day!

The cafe is set like a school canteen, with wooden tables and chairs, and their handwritten menu on the blackboard. There's also this section where they test how "old school" you are.

I'm a total sucker for places with cool ambiance. Food comes second.

And they provide card games for us to play with! Card games meaning donkey. Definitely attracted some attention. And when Naz screamed so loud, people were staring even harder. HAHAHA.

They don't have much choices in their menu, but I felt like trying everything!

So I finally decided on the laksa. Not very wise of me cos I was having a bad gastric for the past few days. But I couldn't care anymore. But back to the food, not bad, but Katong Laksa's still the best yo! And milo powder nomnomnom.
The others tried the mee siam and macaroni. But apparently Wei Liang thought that the mee siam was below standard. It was supposed to be their best!!!

Dessert's always a must, so we ordered the... I can't remember what's it called.

The one on the right is just full chocolate. And the left's chocolate fudge with banana cake. And I loved that!!! I guess everyone else did too. It was awesomeeeeeeee.

Thumbs up to the food, ambiance, service and the price! (Y)(Y)(Y)

-

After that was Subaru Challenge briefing as I was saying. Yada yada, the same as last year.

-

And after that... Impromptu trip to Dhoby Ghaut for Rocher Tauhuey!!!

Best way to end the night and the last day of school for that week!!! :)

-

So if you're wondering why I said "last day of school"...

I just came back from a 2D1N study trip to KL with DEPM!!!

Had to reach school at 7am on Thursday morning and sit the 44 seater coach all the way up MINES KL.

No doubt we were all complaining how uncomfortable it was, and how much we missed our 5-star bus we took on our last trip to Genting.

Finally reached KL after a long 6 hours ride. #buttnumb

Had our lunch at espresSOUP before our tour at MINES.

Maybe it's just me being very impatient, but I was really quite peeved at how inefficient the people were in preparing our food. I had to question them for my food before they started preparing it. Omg and not to mention that we were rushing for time. So much for "espres".

But okay chilling point is that, check this out!!!

I believe we have this in Singapore, but damn I just want to try it!

Pumpkin soup in my bread bowl~ I could do with one right now.

And here's the salad that TOOK FOREVER TO COME.

Then we embarked on our 4 hour crash course learning journey at MINES.

And we witnessed the opening ceremony of some sports event there. We got to meet the Minister (not like I can even remember his name) and took picture with a rather ugly mascot.

And I like this picture even though we all look quite stupid. HAHAHA.

And the official itinerary of our KL trip is over. In just barely 4 hours.

But there was a really bad jam on our way to the hotel...

So our dear Peimin fell asleep and I was trying to snap photos of her.

When she suddenly woke up and scared all 3 of us. Epic moment.

And after a 1 hour plus of jam, we finally reached our hotel...

Super shiok beds!!! As I see this picture, I wish I can run to my room and lie on my bed too hawhawhaw.

Okay, so bed aside, the rest of the evening was spent shopping at Times Square again (after a month) and eating A&w!!!

Enjoyed the bed for a night and overslept in the morning ooooops.

Breakfast at the hotel was bad.

Had a half day KL city tour. I believe that this trip is more of a shopping trip. (Forget about the 6 projects we have to do after coming back to Singapore)

Visited the Chocolate factory that sold chocolates at ridiculously high prices such that majority didn't buy anything and everyone was on the bus in less than 15 minutes.

Then we visited the Sultan Palace and did a ridiculous jumpshot in front of the royal gates.

We are awesome.

Okay, last picture I have for the KL trip. Before returning to Singapore, we had another shopping trip at Times Square and I've learnt my lesson of not bringing my camera around lest I suffer another backache.

And I got my new soft toy! Super cute pinch pinch *poke belly button*
I was very determined this time to get a soft toy so that I could hug something on my way back to make the trip more tolerable.

I think coming back from Malaysia would be the only time I'm happy to be back in Singapore. I abhor the traffic in KL. It's so bad and makes me feel unsafe.

Oh and talking about 3G...

-

K anyway, the weekends was spent busy busy busy.

Marshaling at Subaru Challenge!!!

Had to work from 3pm till 11pm on Saturday and 7am to 3pm on Sunday.
Could feel that my feet, my knees and my upper body were of separate entities on their own.

But each year I go for the event, makes me motivated to join as a contestant one day.

I must be too free.

Or at least... wait till I finish my countless number of tutorials and projects we have on hand.

This shall last me till... Next year.

Alright. End of my lengthy post.

See you guys next week.

First week of school has ended!

Seemed to pass really fast.

Maybe cos we've already been piled with lots of work, and I'm so drained I feel like I don't have sufficient sleep even though I sleep more than enough everyday :(

School hours are looooong and tiring. And tutorials should all be called projects. Assignments are just devils with horns. They are just out to kill each and everyone of us.

So, to celebrate the end of Week 1, the girls and I had Nando's at Bugis Junction after school today!

My Angry Mango Burger. HAHAHA. I think I ordered this cos of the name.
This portion may look small...

But it was so filling. And you just can't eat the burger one whole. Everything falls apart as soon as you poke your knife through. Oops.

And...

Today's lunch was also to celebrate Pei Min's birthdayyyy!!!

And we shared that one slice of cake amongst the 4 of us. #smalleater :D

Really sleepy now, so I'm going to just end this post abruptly.

Gonna go sleep and leave my tutorial to tomorrow.

The end of my holidays is near.

Too near, I wonder how 6 weeks passed so fast.

It feels like I haven't done anything much.
But in fact, this might have been the most eventful 6 weeks of holidays.

My days have been so occupied that I haven't even got the time to watch a single drama.
I wanted to watch at least 3 to 4 dramas one leh!!!

So indeed, time flies when you're having fun.

-

These 6 weeks has been good cos I got time to do things I haven't done in a while, and try many other things.

And all these was done within a week.

Then I went on a 3D2N adventure trip with Naz and Cherlyn to Genting and KL. Definitely had a crazy time with them. And now I know how it feels to be broke in a foreign land. Miss shopping in KL man.

And that week also marked the end of an event at CCK :/ Waking up on weekends had never been that torturing.

Immediately started working on the first day of Week 3.

And also note to self: Never promise to return to mummy's office to work anymore. Bored the hell outta me.

Managed to meet up with Jasmine and Yin Xuan for dinner.

Was supposed to work for 3 weeks, but apparently... a miracle happened.

I was offered to go to Dubai to work as an exhibitor in the MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show for a week.

I thought I was some lucky bitch. I confirmed the job the same day I was told about it, I've never met my boss yet I was going on a trip with her. I learnt a lot of new values, seen new things, made new friends, and I was really grateful for this opportunity given to me.

Read my posts here and here.

The remaining 1 week left before school reopens has been rather bad. SP has been playing multiple pranks on me, made my life miserable, I'm waiting to see how much more worse it's going to be when school starts tomorrow.

How I wish I have another 6 more weeks.

Sigh time to find clothes to wear to school. AGAIN.

I'm going to miss my holidays :(

2nd post on my Dubai Trip!!!

I have already finished my 5 days event.

It feels really weird blogging after I'm already back, but this draft was saved on the day I finished the event. So let's all pretend that I'm still in Dubai ^^

Here's Sharjah Expo Centre. We fight to take the bus to and fro the expo centre and the hotel every morning and night and I always hope I get the better seats, cos there're no U-turns in Dubai, and when the bus needs to go around one big roundabout, it's tough sitting in the middle with nothing to hold on.

I came out in the big hot sun to take some shots of the Expo Centre. Wanted to walk to the back to see the Esplanade but sun... #lastwarning

And my heels was pinching my toes, so I went back in and walk around barefooted.

Weird how their event here starts on a Tuesday and ends on a Saturday. And they have exclusive lady timings on some of the days.

We start at 4pm on Friday due to prayers? And I slept all the way till 1pm that day.

Here's the security screening that we have to go through everyday.

These officers never smile :(

Made some friends throughout the entire event. Quite happy with this part. Bargaining with the customers was quite a fun procedure too. HAHAHAHAHA.

Oh and look at one of my customer's baby!!! Arabic baby. Super adorable and super chubby!
And Middle Eastern babies are all happy kids. I've never seen one cry. And they always smile back to you. Stress free babies.

Singapore babies are probably at home learning ABCs all the time.

-

Anyway, just below our hotel, is this fast food restaurant that's called... Eat Max Cafeteria. And they offer fried chicken sets called... MFC.

But I like their fruit juices there. It's so colourful and tastes quite nice actually.

But I hate how I always come back from the cafeteria smelling like roast chicken :(

-

Since my flight was at midnight on Sunday, we had the entire morning free so we took the bus down to Dubai so I could go take a look at the Mall of Emirates.

Halfway there, we passed by one of Dubai's beaches. It was pretty!!! I was sitting on the wrong side of the bus, so I couldn't get pretty shots.

But seriously, sun-tanning at 38 degrees no joke please.

And on our way to the Mall of Emirates... This is Burj Khalifa that I have mentioned in my previous post. The other buildings around it are almost insignificant...

Lunch was at Paul's @ the Mall of Emirates :)

Boss and me were the only Asians there. HAHAHAHAHA. It's a really nice little cafe to chill out at.

See the cream. Mmmmmm.

And this pumpkin with carrots soup is totally to die for! It's so good I want a bowl of it now!!!

And my apple chiller!

Whole table of food.

But guess what... We didn't even finish half of our main course.

Saddest case ever.

No appetite for one whole week. I get hungry for like 5 minutes, and after that 5 minutes, I can't eat anything anymore. This is pathetic.

So after lunch, we both went our separate ways to shop.

But Mall of Emirates is just like any other shopping mall in Singapore. It's supposed to be big? But I guess it's just like ION, selling high end branded stuff which I obviously cannot afford. I got tired after one hour so I got myself Baskin Robbins and sat somewhere to play tiny tower for the remaining time. Omg their Baskin Robbins was bad. Cheap, but bad.

Funny how I've never eaten Baskin Robbins in Singapore but I've tried them in Genting and Dubai. Going international yo!

Oh back to the Mall. I think the only cool thing they have is a skiing centre!!!

You take the freaking chairlift up and ski your way down. What?! A skiing centre in the middle of a desert?!

Snow city is put to shame.

After shopping, and before going back to Sharjah, we requested our cab driver to drive us to the beach side so we could see the Burj Al Arab in a nicer view.

And omg look at the sun.

And look at the crazy nuts who can stay in this weather for hours.

You say, does it look better in day light?

Oh, there's usually wind and it's quite breezy. But still the heat... No kidding.

Back at the hotel, we chiong to check out and board the bus to the airport cos for whatever reason, everyone's on the bus already when it's supposed to leave half an hour later. Oh well...

So while Boss was busy clearing customs at the airport 6-7 hours before my flight at midnight, I was at the foodcourt... hungry and freezing...

And even more not funny was that my netbook died on me. Should have charged it... :(

HAHAHA I looked like a total IT geek with my netbook and iphone and my old phone, machiam doing big business.

So huge relief when Boss finally whatsapp me to go find her.

Checked in and all, got some stuff and board the planeeeeee.

Damn awesome that the flight was only 1/3 full so we had 1 row each assigned to us!

See how empty the plane is!

So I just shamelessly sprawled across my row of seats and slept through the flight.

Other than the times that I was having my supper... and watching a really sad Taiwanese movie omg I was bawling my eyes out. Thankfully the plane was dark so the lights was out and I was trying not to make any noises lest anyone turned to look at me. But it was so sad I cried 3/4 of the show *sob*

The rest of the time I was zzz-ing.

And the next moment I knew,

Tada I'm back in Singapore!!!

Other photos are up on facebook nong nong time ago!

So... here's all for my Dubai trip!!!

By right, I'm back in Singapore already.

In my last post, I said that I'll try to blog every night. But ending work at 10pm, reaching the hotel at 11pm, and having dinner only at 12am has rendered me exhausted to blog anything coherent.

So I have all my drafts on my dashboard, and I'll just recount bits and pieces left from my memory.

So here goes part of Day 1 and Day 2.

Here's my hotel room in Holiday Inn Sharjah. It's quite big actually. Other than the usual beds...

We have a small living room area. And the couch that I roll on every morning to talk to my dear boy. But the wifi in the morning seriously sucks and I'd probably spend half of my time trying to resend my messages -.-

Oh and my first meal in Sharjah. I'm actually in Sharjah, a 15 min ride away from Dubai.

And boss probably took half an hour to find this North Indian restaurant cos she raved about the food based on her last experience here.

Well, they have cute table mats!

And I guess we weren't too hungry and I wasn't too adaptable to the environment yet, so I had a pretty hard time finishing my food. But I like the sauces you dip the whatever flour in. Sorry, I'm not good with arabic names, so I'll go about naming the places and things whichever way I think appropriate.

The next day was heading to Expo for setting up our booth!!! Took us a couple of hours to arrange our showcases and we chiong-ed out of expo cos we had an exiting itinerary ahead!!!

.
.
.
.
.

YAY DESERT SAFARI!!!

Boss paid for us to go on this trip! So I had a play cum work moment in the Middle East! It's her first time going too, though she's being coming here for the past 5 years :O

So we went to the sand dune in a 4 wheel drive!!!

And we shared the car with this 3 other Indian men and our driver was apparently quite annoyed with them.

Well basically I thought the driver could also be a little more adventurous and make our ride like a roller coaster cos he was controlling the brakes a little too much.

So when the guys saw how other cars went on a thrilling route, they would tell the driver "YOU TRY THAT ONE", and they would end up getting scolded LOL.

Ah and the scenery at the desert is really breathtaking, there's no end to it!

And the sand's so fine. Different from ECP okay! Even the colour also so pretty.

Totally wore the wrong shoes to the desert. Not like I have a choice. And you can see my socks too :P

But I like this shot :)

And this... Beautiful :)

Self praise is no praise.

Thought we would stopover to see the sunset, but the driver didn't stop, so we had to take pictures from the car. Still pretty nonetheless.

And then he drove us to have dinner. IN THE DESERT.

Cool.

And have camel rides!!!

Ahhh I've never seen camels!

And their shit all around in the sand. HAHAHAHAHA.

And yay a camel ride for me!!!

I had difficulty climbing up the camel. I don't do gymnastics and I'm highly inflexible.

And this is where we have our dinner! Al Fresco dining ^^

And we thought this was dinner. Thought it was pathetic to pay so much to eat... pickles, popiah and kebab.

But I had a complimentary henna done. I liked it! But I guessed I wash my hands too many times it disappeared even before I came back to Singapore :( Sad case.

Then they announced dinner. By that time, I wasn't hungry anymore. Or rather, I wasn't hungry at all. I never even finished whatever they gave us before this.

But the kebab was good om nom nom. Tried a little of the others, and threw the rest away. Oops.

Then the rest of the evening was belly dancing. Only time you see a middle eastern woman so skimpily dressed and go around seducing men. K, only for entertainment sake.

Thought it was the end of the night after the driver dropped off the 3 Indian men at the hotel and was supposed to send us back to ours too. But he offered to bring us to see the night lights of Dubai.

I have never been to Dubai, so I was quite hyped up about it. But I felt kinda bad after I saw how tired Boss was :/

But anyway, the driver drove us to see the Burj Al Arab at Jumeira!

From the gate it looks short, fat and flat! Way different from what I thought it would be. I always thought it was slim, tall and pretty.

Oh and we couldn't get pass the gates cos we had to pay an entrance fee of USD50 just to see see look look -.-

Wow and I just checked that a night there costs SGD2,500. Any sponsors?

Then the driver drove us to another pretty hotel nearby and my, it was like a fairytale! There were horses lined up the side of the roads. Nope, no horse carriages, just dirty and smelly us.

Felt like we intruded the hotel, looking all dirty and underdressed, but I just had to take a photo with the chandeliers ^^

Boss brought me to a place where I could capture shots of the Burj Al Arab in another angle!

Then we had a ride down to the Marina Walk. It's like USS and Clarke Quay combined. Where all the angmohs would probably hang out. We were all a tad too tired to get down and walk, so we had a long drive down the stretch of the Marina. The weather was too warm too, not very funny to be walking out there.

And the last stop for the night! Burj Khalifa!

It's TALL. Really really TALL.

I just googled and apparently it's the tallest building in the world. Ooooohhhh...

They have a whole list of current records you can go wiki and check it out.

I have no idea how many levels there are... but I reckon about 200? They have the world's highest restuarant at the 122nd level and it's just at mid height of the entire structure. Say whattttt?

Heard that the food there is good. Anyone with spare cash? ^^

Oh and they have corporate suites some 100 floors above. Omg how sweet would it be to be looking down from that level.

I'm amazed now. HAHAHAHA. I have some other photos, and I'll show them in the next blog post!

Oh, and that was really the end of the night! Back to the hotel and to gear up for the start of event the next day!!!

Will blog more about my work soon!!!
