And mummy and bro!!!


Didn't quite know what to expect because knowing that most of the rides are catered for kids, I still hoped that it would be very fun. But very thankful that we were blessed with good weather the entire day!

Getting a little excited at the entrance cus the park looked really huge and there were 40 over rides to cover.


But Legoland was really really crowded today, everywhere was filled with people. Had to skip the first few attractions, before deciding to go on the Dragon Apprentice roller coaster ride even though the queue was still really long.


Only until the point where we reached our turn, then we realised that we were not queuing for the most thrilling roller coaster. But we started with the more chillax one anyway.

Lunch was cheese sausages & chicken leg with fries at Knight's Feast. No pictures cus everyone just started eating. Drizzled a little but it stopped before we finished our lunch so all was fine.


Then we headed for the Dragon's Kingdom roller coaster (this time the thrilling one!!!) right after lunch since the queue seemed shorter, and we used queuing time to digest our lunch (which thankfully did not turn into indigestion due to anxiety and stomach churning).

I think the Human Ride at USS made me much braver, because I didn't feel as nervous as before. But nonetheless, still screamed really really loud. I remember feeling so tired from screaming halfway through the ride, but not doing so made me scared.

Headed for the 4D show after that. Don't understand why it's so highly raved about, because it wasn't interesting at all.


Queue was long, as usual. The holding area was so crowded and humid, and we had to squeeze like sardines for a good whole 20 minutes before we could enter the theatre. People were pushing, and I ended up sitting alone. There wasn't sufficient / helpful staff on site either.



Show wise, I was expecting much more effects. How can the chair not move when it's a 4D show!!! Cus I was sitting on the last row, we (plus mum and bro) couldn't experience the water effects either.

So much thoughts for a 15 minute attraction lol.

Only the kids enjoyed it very much. Good for them.

Was very sad that this water slide attraction was not open due to unknown reasons!!! Boooooo.


Moving on...

We spent some time at MiniLand, taking photos of all the famous countries landmarks. Probably the only place where you can see a lot of lego bricks in the entire LegoLand (apart from the few lego models pictured above).

Ain't a huge fan of legos, so they don't excite me as much hmm.



But the MiniLand on Singapore was done up quite beautifully, featuring our CBD area, boat quay and Singapore Flyer.





Didn't have much time left so we decided to go for our last attraction, Project X, the last roller coaster in LegoLand.


Had to queue for a good whole 1 hour, and we were all tired and aching like old women. Plus the ride had technical faults, so many people gave up and left, while we waited and waited for them to get it fixed and tested before the queue started moving again. By then we were all too exhausted to feel nervous for the ride.

But when we got on the ride, we started screaming again lol.

Spent our last half an hour visiting the gift shops. Got myself a huge Cookie Monster Sundae while waiting for the rest, and sitting on the floor outside the shop with mummy fanning ourselves cus we were dying from the heat.


And that concludes our 1 day Legoland trip!

Frankly speaking, Legoland fell below my expectations. For the entire day (about 6 hours), we covered only 3 rides and 1 show.

The entire theme park wasn't full of lego bricks as how its name suggests it to be. Other than the MiniLand, which forms the centrepiece of LegoLand and an occasional few lego models around, it doesn't form an impression that you are in LegoLand. Rather, it easily feels like any other theme park you can find anywhere.

Probably also because there ain't any significant characters that LegoLand is linked to, unlike Disneyland you have Winnie the Pooh, and USS you have transformers, etc. There isn't a storyline attached to the entire theme park.

Even though I said we were blessed with good weather (still very thankful for that!), but the queuing areas were really way too humid, and the few number of fans weren't much of a help.

Wouldn't think that it would be unfair to use USS as a benchmark, since both theme parks are well known internationally. But for the same price, I would definitely prefer USS hands down, in terms of level of interest, appeal and welfare for the visitors. Yes, LegoLand needs to improve on their toilet cleanliness. The stench is very very bad.

Probably have to choose a non-peak season the next time if I'm ever visiting again.

Seemed like I wrote a rather negative post about LegoLand, but...

Nonetheless, am still thankful for this opportunity to spend a good day out with my girls and my family, making this a memorable last Friday of 2012!

Hello hello. My world is revolving around proposals and proposals, I almost forgot I still have a blog, and even if I do remember, I can't be bothered to use any other technological devices (other than my phone) when I knock off from work.

Anyway, just last week, entire family went to Muar to attend my cousin's wedding dinner. My cousin = my age and a dad-to-be.

Just thinking about it makes me feel weird.

Early morning 6.30am, we set off for Malacca. It was a really pretty morning, and we were crunched up in mama's suzuki, speeding on the highway.

Poor car, it sounded like it's gonna break apart.

And my poor butt, so many butt numbing moments. I'm serious when I say that my butt's numb ok!


Was frankly quite bored with the bro reading, the mum driving, the dad sleeping and I was sitting in the car, in a really unglam manner. But that was probably the most comfortable position I could find. I was surprised I didn't fall asleep. Well, I did, but only for a short while.


We stopped over at Machap for breakfast and had my fill of not-very-impressive Roti Canai.

Then we drove all the way up to Malacca and got lost.

Guess the hotel was too new we couldn't find it on GPS and we couldn't see it while driving.

So we stopped a couple of times to ask for directions, but still couldn't find it. 


Ended up parking our car at Jonker to have some Peranakan lunch first. Wasn't awesome, but the pork was awesome.


And we saw this really cute old yellow car, which was owned by this really old couple. They looked so cute when they were driving past us!!!


Saw some magic tricks by the roadside, felt kinda impressed, bought some magic cards. Weather was starting to turn really really warm and humid at mid-day, so we gave our chendol a miss cus the queue was mad long and the kids couldn't stand the heat anymore.




The hotel's new and really pretty and comfy and haaaaaaaaaa clean toilets ^^

Okay, the shower head is really really high tech. I have no idea how to describe it, but omg, I didn't even know how to use it. There's like lots of things to turn and adjust, and there's those massaging things that till now, I don't know how I'm supposed to use them. But one thing was that, I thought it would be a really cool bath cus the shower head looked really powerful and I thought I would just soak myself in pouring water over my head. YET, the water that night was unreasonably cold and I was spending probably half an hour just testing the water and trying to make it warm, to no avail. So I ended up bathing in semi-cold water (sucks ttm) and the water supply probably had some pressure fluctuations problem. I still know my stuff.


Anyway, after an afternoon's rest, it was raining and we couldn't go anywhere...

We decided to go to the mall to shop. Ended up at Mahkota Parade and we could see that the dads and the kids were really bored, but I still got my share of shopping, so I'm satisfied, obviously since I didn't have to fork out the money too.

Parked our cars back at the hotel before spending the rest of the evening at Jonker.




Had some awesome assam laksa. The shop was really crowded, and it was only 8+ and they sold out everything.


Dad bought the chendol even before we started on our noodles cus he was afraid that it would be gone too. And true enough, they closed the shop shortly after.

So we only had melted chendol to eat after that.


And it was barely 9pm and we were already the last customers left in the entire shop.

So we hit the streets! And had more muah chee, and potatoessssss.

Back at the hotel, we went up to the balcony, had a drink and enjoyed some small talk cus there wasn't anyone else around. Until... other guests came up and the whole area was full of people, so we decided to retreat back into our rooms. 


Even the fruit punch is so good there are fruit pulps in it! I think the person really took very long to prepare this, cus when other people started coming up, their drink looked different from ours. Like... not that well prepared hahahaha too bad for them.



So next morning's breakfast was great. Half was buffet, and the other half was freshly served breakfast that we could choose from a list!


And I had to serve the 2 little kids, prepare bread for them, stir their milo, cut their food into pieces, machiam their maid. But what funny talks they make hahahaha.

The morning left was climbing up a hill to see St Paul's church, and a view of Malacca...


Then we had a river cruise, just like our Singapore River~



And our last meal in Malacca!

Restaurants everywhere was full so we just tried this one. Service was rather slow, and weird. But their chicken rice balls was mad awesome!!! Their portions are really small, I had 2 plates all to myself. But it's so good, I feel like having one plate right now.


And best of all!!! DURIAN CHENDOL!!!

HEAVEN. Tastes better than the normal chendol the others ordered I bet.


Oh, have I mentioned? I bought myself durian chocolates too!!! Gonna treat myself a piece a week to chase away my Monday blues once I start ITP. But it's only gonna last me 9 weeks cus there's only a miserable 9 pieces, and it's freaking expensive wth scam my money. But whatever, durian woohoo.

Yeap, and that's basically all for the Malacca trip. Really short, but ended my remaining holidays well, and I promised myself to start ITP without complaining.


And we're back to Singapore after visiting the "beach" of Malacca.

LOL we were driving on the waters, it was just so funny, the GPS couldn't navigate ourselves back onto land.
