Last blogged @ 9:31 PM It's the last day of 2011 and 2012 is coming so soon, I'm not even prepared for it yet.
I still remember so clearly what I did on the last day of 2010 and the first day of this year, 2011 doesn't even feel like a year to me.
It's been a good year. I think I can feel myself putting in effort to make it good too.
I turned 18 this year.
I've learnt a lot, felt that I've grown up.
Should I say, I've learnt to fight for my own opportunities, learnt to make more decisions for myself and maybe, learnt to think.
Let's try to list what were the 10 major incidents in 2011.
1. MIKE HE
It was in the midst of exams and Mike He was coming to Singapore and nobody wanted to accompany me.
Almost wanted to abolish the thought of going to meet him, but nooooo.
I decided that I would go alone even if no one is going with me.
Best.Decision.Ever.
Not only did I get to see him in face, breathe the same air as he was breathing...
I managed to get his autograph and shake his hand!!!!! And this was entitled to only the first 50 people.
And I was number 49. Couldn't believe my luck.
BLISS.
Then I had the opportunity to go to Star Awards, in the form of a fan to support Andie Chen.
I was given 2 tickets, and brought mum to view the show because she wanted to go. Probably an awkward moment for her because she had to hold posters up and scream for Andie Chen hahahahahahaha.
Okay, here's the real deal.
Not Andie Chen.
But...
MIKE HE.
Jeovana smsed me to tell me that Mike He was coming as a awards presenter.
And... Very coincidentally, I was going to the awards!!!
What else can I say? FATE.
I was sitting so close to his fans, I could feel the hype too ^^
Can you see him waving at me? ;)
2. TAIWAN
Just days after Mike He's fan meet, on the day after exams, I was off to Taiwan!!!
Favourite.
2nd time there and I still like it. I know people get tired of me saying that I want to go Taiwan over and over again.
But... you just don't understand.
Love the place, love the food, love the shopping, love the weather, love the people, everything teehee.
Get to go to places that I wanted to cos I did my homework and planned parts of the itinerary. Very happy.
Got to see a strip tease for the first time in my life LOL. That was awfully disgusting.
Whatever it is,
MUST.GO.BACK.THERE.AGAIN.
I mean Taiwan, not the strip tease.
3. G12
Yesssss, my proud asset.
Took me months to persuade mum to allow me to get my G12, even after promising her that I would pay for it.
And finally she relented, and I got it for my birthday present (cos I delayed in paying her back).
Best thing ever.
Also did myself proud by going for the photography workshop, as well as taking up photography for Gems, so I guess my photography skills are not that shitty afterall.
4.WORK
I started helping out at mum's office.
BEST PAYING JOB EVER
and
MOST BORING JOB EVER.
Everyday, I sit there and stone. At least, life before I had an iphone was such.
2nd time I returned there to work during vacations,
Everyday, I sit there and watch videos.
I sit and get paid.
Best deal ever?
Just that, even though mum asks me to go back there to work, I'm probably never going again.
Sitting till my butt turns numb is too much of a suffering.
5. DUBAI
So I found a better job!
I think I must have been too lucky.
I was offered the chance to go to Dubai with Elaine for their Jewellery and Watch Exhibition. In other words, work as an exhibitor selling watches.
No doubt, I know nuts about watches, but so what?
I was so going.
And I did!
Air tickets, accommodation, food all fully provided. Plus, I get paid.
I must have done good deeds in my past life.
Work aside,
I went to the dessert safari, went to the sand dune, rode a camel, ate kebab under the moon in the middle of the dessert, watching a belly dancer shaking her fats right in front of me, and did henna for free.
I saw the oh-so-famous Burj Al Arab, as well as the world's tallest building. If you watched MI4, you would know :)
I'm so jealous of myself, damn.
6. MALAYSIA
As read in my previous post, I've been to Malaysia 3 times within 4 months.
The first was with Cherlyn and Naz.The 3 daring musketeers that went on a trip to Malaysia ourselves.
And it was really really fun. Ate a lot, laughed a lot, played a lot, shopped a lot, came back broke. The second was with SP. Very short 2D1N trip. Was supposed to be a study trip, but we definitely played more than we did our work. And just yesterday, with Gwee, Vivian, Azmin and Daanish! Considered a rather impromptu trip, but glad everything turned out fine and fun! I think Malaysia's shopping is so cheap, it pinches my heart to buy clothes in Singapore. Okay, need to go somewhere else other than Genting and KL in Malaysia the next time round! 7. BAKING I can't cook. And maybe never in the near future. My baked potato and my bowl becomes chaota just from microwaving it. Yet, I tried something very unexpected this year. It all started when Vivian asked if I wanted to help bake a cake, and I... agreed. Well, all I did was to just follow her instructions cos frankly speaking, I was quite afraid that I get clumsy and make a mess. Turned out quite well though. So I thought, why not I do it myself? I tried, and baked one for the boy, and also one for the family. Well... Just Christmas this year, I decided that I should attempt to bake gingerbread man cookies. And well, I did put in a lot of money and effort. And I did end up throwing most of the things cos they failed quite terribly. The end result... Nobody thought it was nice. Only me. So disappointing. I have no idea whether the cookies are still in the fridge or being thrown away. I have thus decided that maybe the kitchen thing isn't my playground afterall. I'm better off just eating my food. 8.SCHOOL Stepped into the 2nd year of Poly. Awesome feeling cos I'm know I'm step closer to graduation. Year 2 seems to be flying pass, and school seems less dreadful, but still, dreadful. The most comforting moment would be when I received the Director's Honour Roll. At least there's something I've excelled in, in this school I don't feel attached to. Also on a brighter note, really grateful to have the 3 girls around with me to talk nonsense, bitch and play around with. 9. FRIENDS Wouldn't say that it's a year I've made many new friends. But rather, a year for me to keep in contact with old / current friends. Really thankful for being able to keep friends so close to me even after 2 years of graduation from secondary school. It's always difficult to find friends who can understand you, tolerate you, and be there when you need them even without telling them. And the best part is the sharing of common memories throughout the years :)
10. I'M ATTACHED.
In relevance to Point 9, this is one new friend I've made ^^
This is funny.
I don't know how to go about writing this.
Neighbour? Friend's friend? Schoolmate? The guy on the train?
K, it just happened.
From "my neighbour" to "my boyfriend",
mum says we're funny people.
Also, should I say,
being in a relationship has made me grow up too.
Securities aside, there's always the need to find independence, to find balance, to find understanding.
Independence to prevent over-reliance;
Balance between friends, family and him; balance between work and play;
Understanding between words and emotions that may not be expressed.
No doubt, these 6 months has been good with him around ;) - So there goes my year 2011. Probably many more other significant things that I would have listed, but these are the current ones that are going through my mind. Hopefully 2012 will be equally as good, cos I really enjoyed 2011 and felt that I was really living my own life. New Year Resolutions? Probably for me to become more independent, better tempered, less judgmental, love more, give more, forgive and forget, and be myself. Here comes 2012, and... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Labels: New Year

Last blogged @ 12:59 AM
I'm back from Malaysia!!!
It's been a tiring 4D3N trip cus of heavy bags, deprived sleep (especially not sleeping after going to Night Safari) and huge amounts of walking throughout.
It's been fun nonetheless!!!
So we took our coach from Tampines early morning and slept all the way throughout till Genting zzz.
Other than the rest stop at Yong Peng I mean. Reached Genting at about noon. Looks like a final briefing by Vivian's dad. LOL. And look at Gwee's huge bag. Stayed at First World again. #forevercrowded Then we went to find some food and start our activities for the day!!! Everywhere's people so it's kinda annoying :/ urgh, dislike crowds. Went to get tickets for MI4. Followed by lunch at Marrybrown. Chicken #1 Went to see Gwee and Daanish play pool first, while waiting for the Karaoke place to open. And we were laughing at how Gwee acted like she just ran away from home. Sing K. #notcheap. Was evening by the time we were done singing. And it was really really misty outside, just couldn't resist taking a few more shots. And of course, bowling at the very cool bowling place. My scores were like !@#$%^& I was on a number 9 score streak. FRUSTRATING. Had a quick dinner then we were off to catch our movie!!! Seats were surprisingly comfortable cus the interior of the ticketing counter was meh, but the theatre was not bad. Was sitting at the third row from the front, my eyes hurt so badly from the dry contacts. Plus I was so sleepy, I fell asleep when Tom Cruise went to India. The remaining parts of the movie are just... zero. Back to the hotel to crash. Morning breakfast at the cafe. Mehhhhhhhhh. Then baskin robbins! Cotton candyyyy~~~ Checked out and we were off to KL!!! I have very very very very limited photos of my stay in KL because 1. It's my 3rd time in KL in 4 months and the places I'm going to are quite the same, so nothing too surprising for me to take photos of. 2. It's insane to lug my G12 which weighs half a KG all around the streets of KL, so I've decided it's better off lying in the hotel, comfortable and nice. Checked in at Furama Hotel and we were given adjoining rooms and we even had an entertainment room. Totally felt like an apartment! Plus it was so comfortable and clean and new!!! Kenny Rogers for lunch at Berjaya Times Square and to kope their wifi which was very very bad cos it's so unstable :/ Chicken #2 After that was shopping at Sungei Wang, where Vivian got her hair done while we dozed off at Starbucks / using Wifi. Then off to Fahrenheit and Pavilion to shop. Ended Day 2 with A&W as usual. Root beer float~ Chicken #3 Slept in on the 3rd day we missed breakfast. Headed to Jalan Ampang for some curry rice brunch. Chicken #4 And cabbed down to Mid Valley for some shopping!!! And I finally tried Krispy Kreme for the first time. Never been a big fan of donuts cos their sweetness scares me. But Krispy Kreme was surprisingly good. I now understand why people always tabao them back to Singapore. Maybe I bought the right donut so it wasn't that sweet. The rest, like those with oreo filing, still scares me. Left Mid Valley for Kampong Baru to have some roadside dinner. Very much away from civilization. Food was cheap (I think?), and portions were filling.
And last destination for the day - KLCC!!! Another place I've never been to yet, so I can now say I've finally been to KLCC.
We had a really long walk and finally decided to take the train to KLCC for shopping.
I kinda regret not buying the clutch I saw but it was so expensive. But I want it now.
Sigh, what was I thinking?
Was back at the hotel relatively early, and had a considerably early sleep too. Breakfast in the hotel (which was also this morning) was really bad. And shopping at Berjaya Times Square!!! Bought quite a lot of clothes which I think I probably wouldn't even wear in the near future. Thankfully, mum took a liking to the only bag that I bought, because I decided I didn't really like it after buying it. But anyway, the bag's out with mum now for her party hahahahahaha. So that kinda concluded our trip to Malaysia. Massive shopping and walking, I think my slippers were really made good use of. (Y) And so glad I brought an extra bag, but the things were so heavy I used half my life to carry them all to the bus station. Feels good to be back in Singapore :) I'm veggie deprived.

Last blogged @ 2:24 AM Night Safari with the boy, Gwee, Tzu Ying, Manda, Daanish, Azmin, Zhen Lu and Haziq today!!! Finally made the visit possible since Azmin had discount tickets, so better not waste it before it expires when the year ends. The queue was ridiculously long and probably took us 1 hour to get in. Went for the trail first so we didn't have to waste time queuing for the tram ride. K, and we saw animals. Photos are not very clear, cos flash wasn't allowed. I can't be bothered to photoshop my photos cos it's almost 3am in the morning now. Love this photo of the 3 hippos. They look like paus. Went for 2 rounds on the tram ride LOL. Amost fell asleep during the 2nd round cos the wind too shiok already. Left after that since we couldn't make it in time for the animal show. Went to have supper with Gwee and the boy after that. Life-saver. So I just came home quite awhile ago... Just packed my bag, and in another 2 hours or so, I'm leaving for Malaysia with Gwee, Vivian, Azmin and Daanish! So see you guys after 4 days!!! Then it's time to celebrate the New Year!!! Labels: Friends

Last blogged @ 11:21 PM MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Ya see my tiny Christmas tree? ^^ Bought it with the boy a few days back! And it's a real tree!!!!! I really have no idea why I'm so particular over a Christmas tree when I'm not going to take care of it. Frankly speaking, I haven't even watered it once ever since it has moved into my house. Sigh @ me. And other than that, I tried baking gingerbread cookies but failed really terribly. Well, everyone, except me, thinks that the cookies tastes bad. Probably going to throw away the remaining cookies cus it's highly unlikely that anyone will touch it. I am so disappointed :( Therefore, I have reached a conclusion that I'm not cut out to cook / bake or do anything in the kitchen. And I smell like butter all over eeewwwwww. That's it. I baked mum a cake today and I'm not going to do anymore in the near future. So, to celebrate mum's birthday, we went to The Bark Cafe, just beside Changi Museum and Chapel for lunch ^^ Weather was really breezy and kinda awesome, so outdoor dining was a plus point. There wasn't many people around either, so bonus points for the ambiance too! Seated at a table that complements today's date! LOL I only have a picture of my own Honey Glazed Chicken Burger. The pork ribs and black pepper duck was yummaye tooooo. Okay and that was probably the only interesting thing that happened throughout the entire Christmas day! Always prefer pre-Christmas cus it makes me feel more excited ^^ So... Christmas is ending in a few minutes, And New Year's coming!!! Excited!!! Can't wait to wrap up 2011 with a final blog post!!! Just a few more days!!! *sings* Feliz Navidad~ Feliz Navidad~ Feliz Navidad~ Prospero Ano y Felicidad~ I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas~ I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas~ I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas, from the bottom of my heart~

Last blogged @ 11:35 PM Another day out with the boy. Very happy cus I managed to kill 2 birds with one stone ^^ 1. Finally found time to go to the Titanic Exhibition! And... 2. Finally settled my event and half of my report for MICE project. APPLAUD. Worth my money. Soooooo I must first thank the boy for willing to go with me to the exhibition. I thought it was fun anyway lol. And being my "designated photographer" so I can submit my report. It was both our first time in the ArtScience Museum and maybe considered the first time walking in MBS so thoroughly, frankly, we got quite lost. Good enough to say we walked places I think nobody would ever have walked. I think I secretly was feeling kinda hyped up and excited omg I must be retarded. I read every single word on the boards okay. But I think quite a huge percentage is erased from my memory already :/ Maybe I spent too much of my emotions feeling intrigued by antiques. I personally think that the passenger I "lived" as for the mere few hours had a really sad and tragic life. In case you cannot see clearly, here is what it states: Name: Mrs. Edward Ford (Margaret Ann Watson) Occupation: Farmer .____. "I" had apparently been deserted by "my" husband after giving birth to "my" FIFTH kid and "I" had difficulty supporting the family. So when "I" heard of "my" eldest daughter's success from being a domestic helper in the USA (which was also a lie), "I" decided to bring my family there. And on board with "me" were 10 people, including "my" 4 kids, bro-in-law, niece, nephew and one friend. The saddest thing? "I" died in the end :( At the age of 48. And "my" body never got recovered. Or was unidentified. And "my" stupid husband still had to cheek to recover damages for loss of family and he gets 5 shillings per week. WHAT TRAGEDY :'( Okay you can read "my" story here Then ahhh, so unfair ya' know. The boyfriend got a passenger, wah the life like a rich and good only! Name: Mr Thomas Drake Martinez Cardeza Occupation: GENTLEMAN .___________________________. Read: HERE WHAT KIND OF STUPID OCCUPATION IS THIS?!?! I know I'm just jealous but... but... I think they were just too free and too rich and wanted to board Titanic to see the sea and eat wind or something. They had FOURTEEN trunks, FOUR suitcases and THREE crates of baggage. Plus they occupied the most expensive suites on Titanic, including 2 bedrooms, 1 sitting room and a private fifty-foot promenade. His suite probably costed him $4,500 then, which is at least a 100k right now. WHY GENTLEMAN CAN EARN SO MUCH ONE?! WHY "I" farmer only can afford a $40 ticket ($900 now)?!?!?! I GOT WORK LEH. Pffftttt. Wahhh that's not it. This gentleman is lucky one, before boarding the ship confirm pray damn hard. Cus he survived. And lived till a long ripe old age. Why he no do anything also can live long long? My passenger only wanted to find a better life, also cannot :( WHY SO SUAY ONE. MEH. I am taking this too seriously. BUT. WHY SO EXTREME. So I shall believe that I'm born into this modern age world to live to a long ripe old age, have a good life and shake leg. YES. K, anyway, I liked the iceberg LOL. It was cooooooooooooold. And at the end... This very funny boy went to write something funny. I know no photography allowed... errrrr........ But I wasn't taking photos of any antiques. No harm made yeah? Ok. Here you see the poor farmer who lived a really hard life (wah, I cannot stand the husband wtfbbq) and the very free gentleman hahahahahahaha. My fingers are so exhausted typing out this post. I'm trying to put in a lot of emotions k. Okay, Anyway, I've also concluded that MBS is not a very nice place to shop at because I obviously have no monies to buy a single thing there, and secondly, it's so huge, I think my feet is aching now. At least now I can proudly say I've been to MBS. Next time, I wanna stay in one of those rooms ^^ MONEY PLEASE FALL ON ME. For now, I'm glad enough cos my day is made! HAPPY DAY! Labels: ♥ |
