TAIWAN DAY 3!!!

I think that other than the 2nd morning, I had problems waking up the other mornings. And to think that I always want to be the first to reach the breakfast table.

Breakfast is still the same that morning. Porridge with cabbage, fish floss, and other weird stuff that I've never seen before.

Oh yes!

And the toasted bread with peanut butter / chocolate spread was super awesome!!!

I regretted not tabao-ing some :/

Maybe cos the weather was cold, cos I highly believe that if you eat such things in Singapore, you either get sick of it very easily, or you might suffer a mild heat stroke.

Anyway, while I was enjoying my very 2 lovely pieces of toast, YY was deciding where we should move on next.

I think I mentioned that we are a day ahead of our original itinerary. Then the night before, we settled that we will stay at this homestay for 2 nights to "enjoy" and relax.

But next morning, she decided that we should move on, cos there's nothing to see.

Or rather, she was not interested in the farms and the forest trekking.

So I took out my mighty Taiwan map and started planning.

Okay lah, we had laptop also. But without this map, everyone also sure die one okay.

And the funniest thing of all is that, after staying one night here, we actually DIDN'T KNOW WHERE WE WERE.

So we went to ask the boss, exactly which mountain were we on.

Big LOL.

So for a good whole 1 hour, we were debating where to go next. And they kept asking me where I wanted to go.

But frankly speaking, I only did research on Taipei!!! :P

And we didn't even know which mountain we were on, how I know where to go next!

Then we finally decided to move on to Wuling, 武陵, cos the person from the homestay said that there were Cherry Blossoms there.
View from the room...

Last picture of the room.
Every room has a different theme, but I don't know how to describe it exactly.

Carynn says that they have the habit of mixing up different themes, like French + European + Chinese + Japanese = chapalang.

And this poor dog, tied outside in the cold...

I think I look awkward here.

And look at their pretty switches! And every room has it! So I don't know how it matches with the theme.

And the boss. Actually I'm not sure if he is the boss, but I think the homestay is operated by their family, so I guess, he is?

And they have lots of cute stuff made from metal like this!

I think this is a restaurant just opposite our homestay, which I believe also, belongs to them.

Okay, and finally leaving 马格丽特.

So driving back down, we see Old England again!!!

And then somewhere, we pass by Carton King, 只箱王. So we stopped by, cos I saw this from some people's pictures / blogs and tried researching about it, and very coincidentally caught this by chance. Cos I never really figured out where it was.

Yay, so we went to jalan jalan.

It's like, everything's made of cardboard yo!

And they have a restaurant upstairs, as well as a place selling honey.

We had no intention of lunching there, so we could only take pictures from the entrance.
I wanna sit at those tables and chairs!

But at least we got ourselves a drink, and they're packed into carton boxes as well!
I brought the carton box back, but I have no idea where is it now :P

My aloe vera honey. They give so much aloe vera! And it's so chunky, it's so difficult to suck it up.

It's quite amazing how we spent more than an hour there without eating. Mum and I just sat outside on the train, while the other 3 women shopped very happily inside the shop.
Meh, quite bored cos I was just wasting my very precious time away like that :(

Okay, moving on...

Then we reached 和欢山, a mountain we had to get through to reach Wuling. 3070m in altitude!
And so as we're moving up, the temperature keeps dropping.

And then we finally reached the peak of Wuling mountain after hours of driving! It was already 1pm when we reached. Damn hungry. Though there were lots of food in our car (we had enough to open a mini cafe), but I wanted a proper meal! :(

Driving away, we saw snowwwwwwwww at the side of the roads!!!

The temperature was also the coldest there, at 6 degrees! But UJ said that it was all old snow, but wheeeee, I saw snow in Taiwan!

And shortly after we passed this tunnel,

Tada! We reached Wuling...

Hostel.

The place we were gonna stay at that night.

Wuling was packed with people flocking down to see the Cherry Blossoms, so we were lucky we had a room for 6 in this hostel. And very cheap! Like only S$50 per person including breakfast and dinner.

Okay, the room wasn't bad, but you know, it's like our ECP chalet.

Then we moved out to explore Wuling.

And Cherry Blossoms yo!!!

I kept laughing at this cos they spelt "Farms" with an extra E. It's a spelling mistake right?

And lots of Cherry Blossoms at the side pavements!!! You don't have to be in Japan!
This is the 2nd time I'm seeing Cherry Blossoms and I only see them in Taiwan. LOL. I didn't even get to see them when I was in Japan.

Oh yes, and around this time, it was about 3, 4 pm. Was gonna die from hunger. And I kept seeing people eat cup noodles, I wanted them so badly too!!!

But I just couldn't find where I could buy them. There were like no shops selling them at all!!!

And I shy, so never go ask the people where they got it from.

So we saw this van selling bread. Apparently, it was illegal so he ran away once while we were picking our stuffs. Should have just grabbed some, while he was hurrying to drive off :P

And we finally bought some when he came back the 2nd time. UJ bought an entire bag of it for breakfast the next morning. But apparently, that bag of bread lasted us 3 days and 3 nights cos nobody wanted to eat it. We were always trying new food on the way to everywhere.

The illegal van. I wonder if he scammed our money cos we already paid him, but he insisted that we didn't and didn't want to give back our change.

Then the guy got kinda angsty and said that I didn't understand his Chinese.

So I went back at him like, "I understand what you saying okay! I got study Chinese one hor! Blah blah blah"

Of course I didn't say it in Singlish. But yah, I was kinda angryyyyy. Scam me S$1 leh!

-

I was kinda eager to go see the waterfall. So we drove there, and we had to walk in.
But then we came across this sign:

"To reach Wuling Waterfall, 4.3km, will reach in 2 hours by foot"
Madness!!! We thought it was just gonna be a 20 min walk at most!

And look at the fire hazard sign. Maximum danger!

So we decided not to risk our lives by walking 2 hours with the possibility of dying in a fire if one every breaks out. Plus, it was getting dark and there were snakes lurking around.
Yuck.

So we went back to our hostel cos there was still 1 hour left before dinner.

And I very quickly went to dominate the tv :P

Okay, I'm kinda mean cos there was only 1 tv for the 6 of us. And apparently, only me was interested in Taiwan shows. Like Carynn and BYY always watch the angmoh channels. And while I was happily watching 蝴蝶姐姐 hosting 娱乐百分百, UJ thought her voice was annoying and switched off the tv. Plus he added that everyone was chatting, so nobody was watching tv.
Like best.

I was damn annoyed okay! Like wtf you off my tv!!! Trust me, my tears can fall out cos of this kind of things okay. I never offend you, why you do this to me! :(

But I didn't and definitely couldn't scream lah!

I think YY knew I was mad, so she told me to on the tv later on. But anyway, we changed to watch a movie later on.

Wah man, I sound so spoilt. It wasn't on purpose that I wanted to be like that okay!
It was just too unexpected.
Go Taiwan, then must watch Taiwan shows mah!

-

Aiya anyway, dinner was buffet style ^^

I don't know what I ate also, but the corn soup was damn awesome!

When I wanted a second round, there was no more already :( So I had to waittttttttttttttttttttt.

Oh yes, and I was still desperately searching for my cup noodles. I wanted to eat them that I could dieeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I could only make do with my fish floss bread first :(
Alright, DAY 4 NEXT!
