I'm back from Taiwan!!!

And I'm rather determined to blog out the entire trip cos I wanna share my joy with you all~

I love Taiwan!!!

Anyway, I think I've concluded that I'll come up with a day by day post. Cos uploading photos on blogger is an insane thing to do.

Okay, Imma get started and get mind blown!

Let my Taiwan food fest and playing trip begin!!!

-

So I only went to sleep at 1 plus on Monday morning cos I felt stupid having to wake up at 4am. But I went ahead anyway after repeated shocks by Hong Eng Ah Yi (BYY) who stayed over, and couldn't sleep :/

I still woke up earlier to get prepared. LOL.

Tadah and we reached the airport at 5am!

Okay, very excited me...

Very early breakfast at Polar. I was quite worried that I wouldn't be able to eat anything in Taiwan cos I had poor appetite for the past few days.

I don't want to miss out on all the delicacies :(

And then goodbye to dad and I'm in!!!

Walking around the shops cos we were kinda early. And I made mum push me around on the trolley.

Test of ignoring weird stares by passer-bys.

I think I had a very bad time trying to sleep on the plane. Kept telling mum that I felt like suffocating.

Yeah okay this picture doesn't show me dying cos we were reaching Taiwan! Eurekaaaa!

Finally touching down in 宝岛!!!

I practically skipped out of the airport okay!

And the current temperature in Taoyuan when we touched down.

Met Pastor Paul (Hong Pheng Ah Yi (YY) and Uncle Joshua (UJ))'s friend in the airport before he drove us to this Hakka Restaurant in Taoyuan in the car he rented for us that will bring us around for the next 7-8 days.

That was a very long sentence but yah, you understand me.

Had lunch with Pastor Paul's wife and a couple of their friends too.

Hakka food that didn't really suit me very well.
I think I only liked the tofu and the rice.
I super love Taiwan's 珍珠米 okay! It's hell awesome!

Pastor Paul suggested going to his church for tea (immediately after lunch) and to visit his church.

Frankly speaking, I wasn't much interested cos I wanted to get to our next destination cos we kinda spent a lot of time on lunch already.
Lo and behold!

The church has it's own cafe and they served us this:
Fruit tea with waffles!

IT WAS AWESOME!!!
Okay lunch made me full, but I just couldn't skip this!

It's like so professionally done!

But 3 pieces of waffles was the max. Wanted to tabao it to eat on the way.

And the people there were all nice and friendly!

Then we finally made our way to Sun Moon Lake, 日月潭 at Nantou, 南投.

Pastor Paul drove us there in our 7 seater car. Or is it 9? We had luggages at the back.
He stopped to get us a bag of guava which was really awesome (I ain't a fan of guavas)
But Taiwan's fruits are a MUST-TRY. Don't try you will regret your entire life k.

And stopping by the petrol kiosk. It's so colourful not like Singapore's one.

After 4 hours of long drive, we finally reached Sun Moon Lake in the evening.
My butt was on the verge of cramping cos I had to squeeze behind with YY and Carynn (cousin). If it was my mum beside me at least I could lie on her or squeeze with her closer.

Oh my, the pain in my butt was unbearable.

Since it's still Spring, the days in Taiwan are shorter and by 5 plus 6, the sky is dark like it's 7 in Singapore.

Kinda sad that we couldn't do much.

Got lost trying to find our hotel. It's more like a homestay actually.

水洋旅店

Checked in and took a walk around.

And posing with the famous 日月潭 stone. I heard many China visitors like to take photos with it. LOL.

And then walking around the street to find snacks to eat. I love walking these kind of streets!

The hawkers always give you lots of samples and they don't get angry even if you get more than a piece. In fact, some keep giving you so much you also feel paiseh.

So we had smelly tofu!!!
Actually it wasn't really that smelly, but it's my first time trying it. So, thumbs up!

Then we tried 山猪肉 which was kinda chewy.

And the very nice uncle intoduced us to this 红茶云吞面 across the street. I don't think they are related but he still introduced us to try it even though we didn't buy any of his 山猪肉.

And the owner has this really cute puppy!!!

And this is my 红茶云吞面!!!

The wanton didn't really had the red tea taste.

And this is 葱抓饼 which tastes a lot like our prata!

New favourite!!!

Went back to the hotel cos I was having a very bad gastric.

Damn happy when I turned on the tv! I love Taiwan's TV programmes!!!
But it's kinda intriguing how their tv programmes are actually broadcasted. That's one thing I never figured out.

And this is the super huge room! It's the biggest room we stayed in throughout the entire trip!

2 king size bed for 2 people!

And that marked the end of Day 1. I spent the entire night watching tv. I tried so hard to memorise the tv channels that I liked to watch. Who knows in the other places, the tv channels kinda switched so I gave up.

You know, it's kinda tiring trying to browse through a hundred channels. Though I'm only interested in the first 40 channels, but it's still kinda mad to do that.

Alright! Next up - Taiwan Trip Day 2!
